THIRTEEN THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT LUCY WEASLEY

lucy is - despite what the general consensus might say about her - precociously smart and well read, and you can blame dear ol’ percy for that. she will quote voltaire to shut you up if she has to.
if jason dean from heathers and zooey glass from franny & zooey (and also maybe liam gallagher back when she wasn’t a little angst monster) either had a child or morphed into a single entity that somehow had lady parts, you’d get lucy.
she has a pet cat named nietzsche because it looks like it has the same sort of outrageous moustache action. also because it’s the most pessimistic creature imaginable.
back in the day when she was a shining beacon of hope for team hufflepuff, she developed a trick that was basically a really extreme version of the wronksi feint in which she pretended to fall off her broom to distract the opposing team, and then accio’d her broom at the last second so she could snatch up the snitch while everyone was still in shock. it has since been banned.
even though she’s rarely in class, lucy gets all her work done - usually while she’s sitting by the lake with nietzsche and smoking vanilla cigarettes because she’s a lady thank you very much.
she was born with blonde hair, and has never tried to dye it because it makes her look like her mum and she’s always admired her mum. and if you make a joke about her hair not being red, she’ll literally just punch you in the face and walk away really calmly. (not kidding, she’s done this at least 4 times already.)
lucy got lost in the library for 12 hours in her first year and has therefore vowed not to go back since.
has a horrible habit of of doodling on everything. and it’s not even pretty, flowery doodles or anything. she just draws lines and shapes and the occasional penis.
lucy reads a lot. a lot. but she only reads for herself, and generally detests assigned reading. she’s really fond of muggle authors, though. she’s really keen on hemingway, even though she thinks he was kind of a douche. bukowski too.
lucy can’t produce a patronus because she skipped that lesson and then never really made an effort to learn on her own afterwards.
on a first name basis with every drug dealer / muggle booze smuggler in knockturn alley. it’s how she gets all her fancy herbal cigs, after all.
the concept of love is lost on her, because she thinks she’s unlovable (poor baby). relationships genuinely terrify her, and she’s probably only had one serious boyfriend that she occasionally has lingering feelings for (p.s. holla if you want the be this special guy because i’ll probably request him anyway ya), but that’s it. anything other than casual sex and maybe jumper borrowing sends her running towards the hills.
thirteen is her lucky number because she’s fucking hardcore thx

UNDER A CUT BECAUSE IT’S RLY LONG WOW I’M APOLOGIES

lucy weasley is the opposite of what you’d probably expect as the spawn of percy weasley - she’s foul-mouthed, brash, outspoken, free-spirited and a little bit jaded. she’s also blonde. (but don’t worry, molly makes up for all that model child ambition that lucy lacks.)

there was a time - many years ago - where lucy was just as much the epitome of a model child as her sister is. since percy dearest loathed the near poverty he’d been subjected to growing up, he made sure to provide the best of the best for his two girls. he enrolled them in numerous activities - french classes, mandarin classes, greek classes, riding lesson, ballet, piano, etc etc. and lucy went to them all - and she enjoyed them all.

and then she went to hogwarts.

being the little shit she is, lucy got herself placed in hufflepuff after pissing the hat off. all signs indicated that she clearly should have been a slytherin or ravenclaw (she was witty and ambitious like her father, but also sly and tough like a true snake), but the defiant little creature had landed herself in hufflepuff instead, and she saw that as a curse.

and it broke her spirits, too. after spending first year eagerly trying to prove herself, she gave up. second year rolled around and soon enough, lucy was spending less time in class and more time doing whatever she damn fancied. she may as well have been a school ghost for all her professors knew.

but in fourth year, lucy found quidditch. sure, she’d been playing it her whole life at family reunions, but she’d never given actually playing quidditch much thought before then. turns out she’s a bit of a prodigy, this one; a regular seeker miracle. she glides through the air like a silver bullet, so fast no one ever sees her coming. she’s crafty and quick-witted and not above drastic tactics if that means the snitch is in her hands and the crowds are singing her praises. they call her the “hope of hufflepuff” and she’s sososo close to bringing them to glory -

until she has an accident (flies to close to the sun) and her promising quidditch career is over in a snap (the snap of 16 bones as she hits the ground with a gruesome thud.)

it’s been a year since “the accident” and everyone is still wondering how it happened, even lucy. she misses more classes more than ever now - preferring to take her unbridled rage at the world out in her favourite secluded spot by the lake with a bottle of firewhiskey and a packet of smokes. she completely immerses herself into the “careless, slightly loveable but mostly antagonistic delinquent” persona and stops giving a shit. but hey, at least she throws the best parties hogwarts has seen since the mid 1970s.

(she may or may not have a gatsby complex, but that’s okay because she’s got the charisma to make you forget all about it.)

lucy has four tattoos - a large flower on her right shoulder, a large tiger on her left thigh, carpe omnes on her right forearm (because she still wants to rule the entire world despite what her slacker tendencies may lead you to believe), and a cat on her left ring finger (she was drunk, tbh) - and nine piercings. her parents know about none of them.

she’s pretty fun to be around so long as you don’t quidditch around her, because then she just gets quiet and mopey. but for the most part, lucy has the energy of a seven year old (and the sex drive of a frat boy) and will wear you out in five seconds flat if you let her.

and if you ask her why her hair is blonde, why she’s a hufflepuff etc etc she’ll just straight up punch you in the face and walk away xoxo *sunglasses emoji*

lucy weasley probably isn’t what you expect when people say the name “weasley” - what, with her self-bleached hair and all. but that’s okay - she’s used to it by now.
she got along with her uncle charlie much more than her own father, and that caused a bit of a rift in the family. especially when she called uncle charlie “dada” before her real dad.
if lucy wasn’t such a shining beacon of the slacker lifestyle, she’d tbe a slytherin and there isn’t a question about it. she’s cunning, sly and manipulative - all under an easy half-crooked grin and a rambunctious little laugh. she has this way of weaselling (pun intended) her way into peoples’ lives - figuring out what they want, dangling that desire in front of them, and then carelessly tossing them away when she’s got what she wants.
which is probably what makes her a stellar drug dealer.
she’s really competitive, and sometimes that works against her. lucy is truly her father’s daughter in the sense that she always wants to be number one.
(she’d win america’s next top model because she definitely wants to be on top.)
lucy has a habit of forgetting she has a wand, and doing everything the muggle way because she’s exceptionally shitty at charms. she dyes (and cuts) her own hair, pierced her own navel and packs her own bowls. the only thing she really used magic for is when she’s too lazy to get up to get something from across the room.
she was in detention for her entire fourth year because she had sex in the charms class during dinner, and that’s pretty much her defining pre-drug ring moment.
as a chaser for the hufflepuff quidditch team, lucy does pretty well. she’d do better if she wasn’t consistently high during almost every match.
lucy weasley is a little social butterfly, and maybe that’s due to that sly personality of hers. she has a hard time remembering names, and calls everyone either “sweets” or “sugar: if you think she’s listening to you talk, there’s a possibility she probably isn’t - but she’ll nod and smile just to edge you along.
lucy’s only real ambition is to earn loads of money and visit every country in the world. she hates being in one place for too long, this little antsypants.
mention the words “love” and “you” in the same sentence around her and she’ll be off running. lucy doesn’t like the concept of love - it’s fickle and sticky and a great big mess. she doesn’t want to “give some skeezy bloke that kinda emotional power, ya know?”
which is why her only “committed relationship” is the one she has to her ~craft~ aka dealing recreational drugs to her peers.
speaking of which, never short lucy on a payment. she’ll break your knees. or something. long story short: she had a muggle mob movies phase when she was like 11.
(also speaking of which: she’ll break your knuckles if she isn’t your number one source of wizard weed. customer loyalty is everything to lovely lucy.)
